Core bills top inflation rate

-

HOUSEHOLD bills are rising faster than inflation.

Average costs for core expenses are up 2.5% in the 12 months to October while general price rises stayed steady at 2.2%.

Energy rose 9.2% while petrol went up 11.5%.

Guy Anker, deputy editor at MoneySavingExpert.com, said: “The impact of this is massive.

“It affects the things you perhaps need the most or spend the most on.”

But he said people could save hundreds of pounds by switching providers.
