Today’s photo shows comedian Ken Dodd with his Diddy Men after switching on the Christmas lights in his home city of Liverpool. Dubbed “the last great music hall entertainer”, Dodd was a lifelong resident of Knotty Ash, which he often joked about in his performances that often lasted for hours on end. Knighted in the 2017 New Year’s Honours, he died on March 11 aged 90.
