England midfielder Alli admits it has been a slow start for him personally, but believes that if he can have an injury-free run he can go from strength to strength this season.

He added: “It’s been a slow season for me so far. I’ve picked up some injuries, but I’ve worked hard in training and in the gym.

“My role has changed and I’m playing a little bit deeper. I’m not always thinking about scoring goals or assisting. But as long as we get three points I am happy.”
