KAL NAISMITH is determined to grab his Championship chance with both hands.
The Scot, 26, is plying his trade at English second-tier level for the first time with Wigan, following earlier spells with Accrington and Portsmouth.
The midfielder impressed in this goalless draw after returning to the starting XI, and he said: “I definitely think it takes time.
“It’s been a big step up for me, but I’ll keep working hard to be good enough to take my chances in the team when they come along. There are a lot of good sides in the Championship, it is a very unforgiving league.
“To get any point is good, so I was pleased with how I played against Reading.
“It’s an exciting time for me here and I’m grateful for the opportunity.
“We’ve gained ourselves something to build on with a draw.”
