Crofters hold up spaceport

-

A £45MILLION plan to build the UK’s first spaceport could be delayed for years amid fears for Scotland’s white-tailed eagles.

It was hoped a launch site on the A’Mhoine peninsula in Sutherland would be created by 2020.

Crofters who own the land are split over the UK Space Agency plan, which may now go to the courts.

Campaigner John Williams said: “A rocket launch site without environmental protection monitoring is not tenable.”
