David Taylor, 80, alleges he was “dragged”, “scalded” and “bruised”.

The former builder from Middleton, Gtr Manchester, who can only communicat­e by typing, alleged abuse and neglect that left him with bruised arms and legs and a burn from spilt tea.

His wife Linda, 75, entrusted the motor neurone disease sufferer to Langfield Nursing & Residentia­l Home for two weeks’ respite care in 2014 after he underwent chemothera­py for cancer.

She said: “He was in hysterics. I will never trust a care home again.”

The firm then responsibl­e for the home, St Andrews GRP Limited, now dissolved, has not admitted liability, but in March paid a settlement.
