Leaf variety a total mystree
SIXTY per cent of Brits are unable to identify a leaf from a maple or an oak tree, a study has shown.
A quarter have no idea which trees grow conkers and a third don’t know the species of a Christmas tree.
A fifth think wi-fi is more important than trees and 16% have no idea what benefit they are to Earth.
Laura McNamee, of npower, which commissioned the survey, said: “The nation’s knowledge on one of our most vital natural assets is lacking.”
