BT claims to be the first broadband provider in the world to guarantee customers a strong reliable connection in every room of their home. The industry giant has launched Complete Wifi, a new service that uses wifi “discs” to boost speeds. It costs an extra £5 a month for existing BT Plus customers.

Shares in Faroe Petroleum have soared more than 25% after its largest shareholde­r launched a £608million takeover bid for the company. DNO, a Norwegian firm which already owns more than 28% of Faroe, said it was offering a “considerab­le premium” to investors wishing to exit amid the uncertaint­y of the oil market.
