Moderate in UKIP walkout on Robinson
A UKIP moderate has quit the party over its links with Tommy Robinson.
MEP Patrick O’Flynn slammed leader Gerard Batten for welcoming the English Defence League founder as an adviser.
He said: “Gerard is transforming what UKIP stands for and offers to voters.
“Many longstanding party members have already left as a result. Today I am joining them.”
Mr O’Flynn, has represented East of England since 2014 as MEP.
The appointment of Robinson, real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, was previously blasted by former leader Nigel Farage who was “appalled”.
