Hang on!

Life-or-death grip for glider as pilot fails to attach him

A NOVICE hang glider clings on for his life after his pilot failed to attach his safety harness.

Chris Gursky, 54, was on his first flight and started to lose grip as they launched themselves from 4,000ft up an Alp in Switzerland.

In footage filmed from the glider, he is seen dangling with just one hand on the crossbar before he manages to grab on to the pilot’s trouser leg with his other hand.

He explained: “For two minutes 14 seconds, I had to hang on for my life... I looked down and thought, this is it.

“I was swinging in the wind with the glider.”

After a rough landing he had a titanium plate put in his broken wrist.

But Chris of Saratosa, Florida, insisted he would try gliding again.

THE novice left clinging on for dear life after his instructor failed to attach a safety line put the hang into hang gliding.

Lucky Chris Gursky must have the world’s strongest grip – and if he wants to try a safer sport, we suggest wrestling crocodiles.
