Panda loses his testicles

THE UK’s only male giant panda has had his testicles removed after tumours were found on them.

It follows years of unsuccessful bids to breed Yang Guang with female Tian Tian at Edinburgh Zoo.

Bosses say the problem is recent and played no part in the failure of the scheme since the pair were loaned by China in 2011.

Darren McGarry of the zoo said: “We will discuss future breeding possibilities with our partners in China over coming weeks.”
