1 in 3 kids in self-harm struggle

-

ONE in three children aged between 13 and 17 has thought about harming themselves, research shows.

And one in 16 thinks about it all or most of the time, the study found.

It also revealed that one in five teenagers feels overwhelmed or worried often or constantly, with the problem affecting girls much more than boys. Rick Bradley, of the Addaction charity which did the study of more than 8,500 children, said: “It’s not easy for young people today.

“In some ways they’ve never been more connected, but [this] can carry a lot of pressure, especially through social media, with negative impacts on self-esteem.”
