MARSHALL STARS TO KEEP CANARIES GROUNDED

-

DAVID MARSHALL pulled off some vital saves to put a halt to high-flying Norwich City’s six-game winning run.

The Hull keeper was like a brick wall as he kept out Norwich boss Daniel Farke’s (right) potent attack.

Norwich, missing key midfielder Moritz Leitner, struggled to find any fluency, in testing conditions, as the rain poured down at the KCOM Stadium.

Hull wasted a great chance when Kamil Grosicki crossed for Jarrod Bowen, who headed wide from close range.

The Canaries finally found some rhythm towards the end of the first half - and Marshall came to his team’s rescue twice.

He initially did well to keep out a powerful shot from Alex Tettey before blocking a low strike from Tom Trybull. However, it was a different story in the second half.

Hull pushed forward but Norwich keeper Tim Krul easily saved strikes from Jackson Irvine and Grosicki.

Norwich were then the ones on the back foot - but they caused a major scare when Max Aarons’s cross was headed wide by Marco Stiepermann.
