Charles: Sloe gin is berry nice

PRINCE Charles sipped a sloe and cherry gin as he toured a gourmet market yesterday.

He and wife Camilla visited stalls in Ely, Cambs, and Charles paused beside one selling gin.

“Shall I try a drop?” he said, laughing that it was served in a glass as “big as my whole face!”. He called it “absolutely irresistible” as stallholder Nancy Decleir gave him a bottle.

He also visited the town’s Stained Glass Museum, where he is patron, marking its 40th year.
