Bushfire fears for camp
ITV bosses are poised to get the celebrities out of camp if huge bushfires raging nearby get much closer to the stars.
Conditions in Queensland are now rated as “catastrophic” in some areas due to a combination of fierce winds, low humidity and record high temperatures.
Yesterday, there were up to 200 wildfires with the closest around 37 miles from camp, to the north in Oxenford and Wongawallan. I’m A Celebrity is filmed in Murwillumbah, on the border of Queensland and New South Wales.
A source on the show said: “We speak to fire services and are monitoring bushfires. There’s no immediate danger but the safety of cast and crew is our main concern.”
The camp was evacuated in 2015 as it was hit by thunder, lightning and torrential rain.
