Teen ‘brutally murdered girl after meeting in park’
A GIRL of 14 was bludgeoned to death by an older boy who then abused her body, a court heard.
Viktorija Sokolova arranged to meet the 16-year-old in a park after exchanging messages on Facebook.
It is claimed she was then subjected to “horrific levels of violence” with a hammer-like weapon. A jury was told the boy Trevillion’s Facebook post dragged Viktorija’s lifeless body to a bench before raping her.
Prosecutor Jonathan Rees QC said a horrified dog walker found the battered body in West Park, Wolverhampton, the next morning.
She was in a kneeling position over the arm of the bench, with her clothing partly removed.
Mr Rees told the jury: “Viktorija was only 14 years old. She had been subjected to a sustained and ferocious attack to the head. It involved a minimum of 21 blows.
“The force was such that it caused multiple fractures of the underlying skullcap and facial skeleton. In short, her head had been smashed in.”
Lithuania-born Viktorija moved to the UK in 2011 and lived close to the park. The defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admits meeting her there in April.
But he denies attacking her and claims she was “alive and well” when he left. The teenager denies murder and two sex charges.
The trial at Wolverhampton crown court continues.
