Victim’s mum in knife plea at cathedral
STABBED Teen Shaquan THE grieving mum of a murdered teen will tonight lead a candlelit ceremony to help rid the scourge of knives from the streets.
Jessica Plummer said: “I do not want another mum to go through the pain I have gone through, so doing this event is not just for myself, but for others.”
She will address a thousand community activists at the London Citizensorganised ceremony.
The names of the 120 people murdered in the capital this year will be read out at St George’s Cathedral in Southwark, South London.
Ms Plummer’s son, A-level student Shaquan Sammy-Plummer, 17, was killed in 2015 by Jemal Williams, 20. Williams, of Enfield, was jailed for life.
