Toy at water led police to body of boy
POLICE realised the bodies of a boy and his mum were in a reservoir after seeing a child’s cuddly toy at the water’s edge, an inquest heard yesterday.
Social worker Emma Sillett, 41, and her son Jenson Spellman, age five, had been missing for two days when divers found their bodies last Thursday.
Chesterfield coroner’s court heard police had earlier found Ms Sillett’s at Valehouse reservoir, near Tintwistle in Derbs.
Her partner, Jenson’s dad, John Spellman, called police after the pair failed to return home to Dinting, Derbys, on November 20.
The inquest was adjourned, pending the results of toxicology tests.
Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.
