Taliban kill 10 in base of UK security firm

- BY ABDUL QADIR SEDIQI

PEACE Ashraf Ghani GUNMEN have attacked a British security contractors’ compound in Kabul, killing at least 10 people and wounding 19.

Yesterday’s blitz was just hours after Afghan President Ashraf Ghani outlined plans for peace in Geneva.

The Taliban claimed responsibility, saying it was in response to heavy casualties caused by security forces elsewhere.

A car bomb exploded outside G4S’s base in the Afghan capital and then gunmen stormed in.

A father called Hafizullah brought three children to hospital injured in a house near the base.

“There was a bang and right after that, all the windows and ceiling collapsed over the children. All of the doors were shattered,” he said.
