Gates in $1m male pill gift

BILL Gates’ charity has donated almost $1million to British scientists trying to develop the first safe male contraceptive.

University of Dundee experts say the £727,093 gift from the world’s secondrichest man will help them make significant headway.

Professor Chris Barratt said: “Progress towards a male contraceptive has been slow because this is a highly neglected area of medical research.”

He added: “The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has quite rightly recognised the problem.”
