Half have not checked car

NEARLY half of drivers have done no maintenance checks on their vehicle despite the onset of winter, research shows.

One in five motorists does not even know how to clear an icy window.

The study also found four in 10 can’t change their antifreeze.

Ella Colley, from Halfords, which commissioned the survey of 2,000 drivers, said: “It’s concerning so few people perform the relevant checks ahead of winter.”
