Refs guru Eddie OK

SENIOR referees’ coach Eddie Wolstenholme is in hospital but in good spirits after collapsing at Turf Moor on Monday.

The former Premier League whistler was taken ill in the tunnel before the Clarets’ home defeat to Newcastle.

The 8pm kick-off was delayed by half an hour as the 64-year-old was taken to Victoria Hospital in Blackpool, where he is staying for a few days.

The Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) thanked Burnley’s and Newcastle’s medical teams for assisting Wolstenholme immediately after the incident.
