Leaders row over who will show debate
THERESA May and Jeremy Corbyn are rowing over which TV channel will host their Brexit showdown.
The PM’s team favour the BBC’s offer of an 8pm slot on Sunday, after Strictly.
But the Labour leader prefers ITV’s plan to air the debate before the I’m A Celebrity final.
Mr Corbyn said: “It reaches a wider audience and the timing looked good.
“It’s not inconveniencing people who want to watch other things later in the evening.”
He added of the I’m A Celebrity final: “Maybe I want to watch it myself.”
The Mirror understands No10 saw bids from four broadcasters before settling on the BBC’s.
