On course for 10-year high

-

KNIFE crime is set to hit a 10-year high with 37 youths killed so far this year.

The toll is the highest since 2007 – when 48 children were killed.

With five weeks of 2018 to go, the West Midlands has already recorded its highest number of child knife deaths in 40 years.

Labour MP Vicky Foxcroft said: “You can’t cut police, services in schools, access to mental health services and youth work and not expect a consequence.”
