Suicide OAP’s car cliff dive
A LONELY widower texted his care home before driving his BMW off 530ft off Beachy Head.
Kenneth Scollay, 81, drove 300 miles to East Sussex from Bridlington, East Yorks, after booking a holiday in Brighton.
The former river pilot decided he couldn’t live without partner Eileen who had died in 2016.
His text caused widespread “upset and shock” among staff and residents, an inquest in Hull heard.
Verdict: Suicide.
