Toyland treats or festive fails?

THE top toys for Christmas have been unveiled. So if you want to know which are worth putting on a wish-list to Santa, and which will be ditched by Boxing Day, we’ve asked the real experts to reveal all... kids.

We teamed up with high street and online giant Argos to put 10 of this year’s dream toys, compiled by the Toy Retailers Associatio­n, to the ultimate test. Then our group of ‘profession­als’, aged five to nine, from Loughborou­gh Primary School in Brixton, South London, got stuck in.

Hi-tech game of tag for in or outdoors, day or night, that works up to 60 metres away. Keshaun Fulton, age 7, says:

“I think my little brother will like playing this too, he’s four and very fast at running. Once when I was at the funfair I won a police gun and a badge a bit like this, but this is better because it has a light and it’s electronic. I am going to ask for this for Christmas.” Verdict: Amazing 10/10 Harry Potter Hogwarts Great Hall Lego Toy, £84.99, John Lewis

Build and create a magical fantasy from the Harry Potter movies with this detailed 4-level Lego building kit. Lilia Soltani, age 9, says:

“I think that my friend Adam would really like to help me to make this. He tried really hard to put all the pieces together. I liked that it was a cool big building and that there were lots of pieces and lots of characters. Some parts were a bit tricky to put together.” Verdict: Good 8/10

Poopsie Surprise Unicorn Slime Surprise, £49.99, The Entertaine­r

Magically poops slime when you feed her and sit her on the glittery potty. Kelly Hoang, age 6,

says: ”Poopsie was a bit tricky to unwrap and I needed a grown-up to help. I loved her glittery horn and her pink hair. My sister Lianne would love playing with this with me – she loves glitter. I like her name and long eyelashes.

Verdict: Glittery 6/10 Fingerling­s Untamed Jailbreak T-Rex Playset, £39.99, Argos

Two fearsome fingerling dinos – T-Rex with eyes that glow in the dark and Bolt the Raptor – you can tame them into friendly companions, or just unleash their inner beasts. Alvina Kika, age 9, says:

“I think it was quite cool, I liked the cage and the roaring noise that they made. I think my brother would like these more than me. I don’t think this will be on my Christmas list this year.”

Verdict: Cool 7.1/10 Boxer, £44.99, Argos

Interactiv­e AI robot buddy with funny expression­s and sounds. You can use activity cards to play games with him, such as Bot Bowling. Kayden Hill, age 7, says:

“I love boxing, so I really like Boxer’s name. I like the way he acts, he’s funny and cheeky like me. I also like the cards and how you can make him play. I think my big brother would like playing with him and he’s 18. I’m putting this on my Christmas list. Verdict: Excellent 1,000/10

Harry Potter Wizard Training Wand, £24.99, Argos

A training wand with motion sensors to track movements to help youngsters unleash their inner sorcerer.

Luc Konan, age 9, says: “I loved the buttons, the lights, the noises it made – everything about it! I think I might put this on my Christmas list this year. My friends Holly and Jacob would also really like it as they are big Harry Potter fans. Verdict:
