Euro migration at six-year low

NET EU migration has fallen to its lowest level in six years, figures show.

But the number of Romanians in the UK is up 23% after an increase of 75,000 in the 12 months to June.

Net EU migration is at 74,000 – the lowest since 2012 – while from outside Europe it is 248,000.

The Office for National Statistics said: “Decisions to migrate are complex and decisions to move to or from the UK will be influenced by a range of factors.”
