1 in 4 trainee docs ‘feeling burnt-out’
A QUARTER of trainee doctors feel burnt out, research has found.
And two in five told the General Medical Council their work was “emotionally exhausting” with a third reporting feeling worn out at the thought of another day in the job.
The BMA, which contacted 70,000 doctors in training and senior trainers, called the findings “deeply disturbing” and added: “These warning signs must not be ignored.
“An unsupportive environment doesn’t just disrupt training but can be a sign that inexperienced doctors are working beyond their clinical competence.”
