Fake records duo are jailed

TWO conmen have been jailed for selling counterfei­t vinyl records.

They were part of a team that manufactur­ed thousands of unlicensed discs.

It cost the industry around £500,000, Newport crown court heard.

Stephen Russell, 65, of Kiddermins­ter, Worcs, was jailed for eight months, and Robert Pye, 63, from Ipswich, got 10 months.

Two other defendants got suspended jail terms.

The quartet admitted trademark infringeme­nts.
