HARRY LANDS KO BLOW
UNO WHAT I MEAN HARRY slugged it out to lift the Ladbrokes Long Distance Hurdle for a second time as he made his return to the ring at Newbury.
The JP McManus-owned 10-year-old, who won the Grade 2 three-miler in 2016, looked on the wrong side of a points verdict when pushed along in the straight.
But Harry Fry’s veteran produced a knockout blow under Barry Geraghty to beat Clyne by two and a half lengths.
“He hadn’t won for over a year and at the end of last year things were on the wane,” admitted
Fry (right).
“I’m just delighted to get him back in the winner’s enclosure — he has given us another big day.” Charlie Deutsch enjoyed his biggest success since serving a prison term for dangerous driving while over the drink-drive limit as Aso landed the Ladbrokes Handicap Chase.
