G’day for Dingo in Trophy

-

YOU don’t get a bad horse winning the Ladbrokes Trophy and today’s race should provide clues for the big festivals at Cheltenham and Aintree in the spring.

Formerly known as the Hennessy Gold Cup and first run in 1957, there are plenty of trends to take into account — the most important being:

■ Aged eight or younger. ■ Won between two and five times over fences. ■ Not a mare.

I don’t get the bookie hype over the Sandown race in which Elegant Escape beat Thomas Patrick and the pair — although at the head of today’s market — are easily ignored.

We are looking for a contender who will travel smoothly through the race, which leads us to DINGO DOLLAR.

The six-year-old comes from the in-form Alan King (above) team and scored in style at Newbury almost a year ago.

Dingo Dollar ran a cracker over hurdles here last month and he’s a great bet at 8-1 with Betfair. Have 4pts win.
