Hendo’s D’Air raid warning

- BY DAVID YATES

BUVEUR D’AIR takes on “as big a test as he’s faced” when the dual Champion Hurdler returns to action in the BetVictor Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle (2.05) today.

Irish challenger Samcro and

Supreme Novices’ Hurdle hero Summerville Boy lie in wait for the Nicky Henderson-trained seven-year-old, who has his first start since beating Melon by a neck at the Cheltenham Festival last March.

“This will be as big a test as he has faced anywhere — and it is first time out,” insisted Henderson.

“It will be a fascinating race with Samcro in there, and Summerville Boy is a decent horse, too.

“It is a tough starting place — one of the toughest races he has faced to be honest — but he is in good form.”
