Plea to war hero’s killer

Grieving family puts pressure on anybody shielding attacker

KILLED Peter Gouldstone THE killer of Second World War veteran Peter Gouldstone has been urged to hand themselves over to police.

Mr Gouldstone, 98, died four weeks after being attacked by a violent robber in his own home.

In a direct plea to anyone shielding the attacker, his son Simon said: “To anyone with informatio­n. How can you live with yourselves? The sooner they’re locked up the better.”

The war hero’s tragic death sparked outrage on social media.

Dave Habberley said: “It’s time for the police to get out of the office and their cars, do some legwork and catch these scum.”

Peter was attacked in Enfield, North London, in the home he lived in for more than 60 years.

The former telephone engineer, was found with a head injury and extensive bruising to his body.

He was taken to hospital but died on Friday. A number of his possession­s, including a 26-inch Panasonic television were stolen.

Crimestopp­ers are offering a £10,000 reward for informatio­n leading to the killer’s conviction.

Police are keen to hear from anyone offered the stolen TV.
