Three Lions boosted beer sales
ENGLAND’S World Cup success and the hot weather saw beer sales rise by 4.4%.
Pubs saw sales increase by 0.9%, the sector’s first third-quarter growth for more than 15 years, according to the British Beer & Pub Association. Supermarket and off-licence sales soared 7.6% in the same July to September period.
However, the BBPA warned that Brexit uncertainty was a major concern. Chief executive, Brigid Simmonds, said: “A no-deal Brexit must be avoided at all costs.”
