How ferry Gerry made me merry

I enjoyed reading your article on 1960s pop icon Gerry Marsden (November 29) and would like to wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement.

I was lucky enough to have a nice chat with the Ferry Cross The Mersey singer after seeing him in concert in Hull some 17 years ago. I found him to be a great guy with a great sense of humour.
