Levy’s limits costing jobs

-

A STORE could create 400 more jobs if the Government’s apprenticeship levy covered travel and accommodation on courses.

The Co-op is calling for simple changes to the system launched last year.

It said 20% of an apprentice’s time is spent off the job in training but it’s not fully covered by the levy.

The Co-op’s Helen Webb said: “If we could use the levy to cover these costs we could offer up to 400 more apprenticeship roles.”
