6.7m lose in gift card fail

SOME 6.7 million people have found that their gift cards are worthless, a study found.

One in 10 of us has failed to use a card before it expired, which can be in as little as six months.

And one in 20 has been hit when the gift card firm went bust, GoCompare Money’s survey found.

It said: “Cash in an envelope might be better.”
