I used to feel like the woman who wrote in about feeling left out since her best friend had a baby (Dear Coleen, November 30).

Then I had twins and realised how consuming parenthood is and how much you rely on other mums.

But that phase doesn’t last forever and her friend will appreciate that she can go out with her and reconnect with that side of her herself that gets swamped when babies come along!
