Xmas fir fire: 8 in hospital

A FAMILY of eight had to be taken to hospital after their Christmas tree went up in flames as they slept.

Two adults and six children had smoke inhalation after an alarm went off.

Fire crews, in Paignton, Devon, said the tree was “destroyed” and the cause was “being investigated”.
