SIXTY Beatrix Potter first editions – including The Tale of Peter Rabbit – are up for auction from tomorrow in Aylsham, Norfolk. POLICE searching for a British woman who went missing on Tenerife have found a body in the sea near where she was last seen.

Animal trainer Amy Gerard, 28, vanished after a night out with friends.

She was last seen outside an Irish bar in the northern city of Puerto de la Cruz just after midnight last Friday morning.

Her mum, Julie Gerard, 59, and sister Chloe, 30, have flown to the Spanish holiday island to help the search for Amy, who was working as a killer whale trainer at the Loro Parque marine park.

The body was found just a few hundred yards from the bar where Amy, from Cleethorpes, Lincs, was last seen.

It was spotted yesterday by a police helicopter and brought ashore by a lifeboat shortly before midday.

A police spokesman said: “I can confirm a woman’s body has been found in the sea. It is too early to say at this stage whether missing Brit or not.”

Amy, a University of Lincoln graduate, had been on a night out at Molly Malone pub on the night she disappeared.

She was with a group of workmates, one of whom is said to have been her German boyfriend Dennis Kissling, also a wildlife trainer. it is

Amy, who also worked in Mexico and the Dominican Republic, had been on the island since May 2016.

Earlier this week her mum Julie wrote on Facebook: “It’s not like my daughter to go missing and not contact us.

“Please contact the police if you’ve seen or heard anything from Amy since Thursday night. We’re all very worried and need new information. We want her found as soon as possible.” Fun Amy kisses a dolphin
