Ring lost on Reef is found 18 days later
A HONEYMOONER’S wedding ring which fell off while he was snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef was spotted by a scuba diver 18 days later.
Project co-ordinator Stuart Brown, 29, had hunted in vain for the £700 gold band.
Wife Amie, 27, said: “I was absolutely devastated.”
Back home they received an email from snorkel cruise firm Quicksilver in Port Douglas, Queensland.
It said: “Good news. One of our divers found your wedding ring sitting on coral under the pontoon.”
The ring was posted to their home in East Kilbride, South Lanarks
Amie, a solicitor, said of the find: “We were in absolute disbelief.
“Friends think Stuart made the whole thing up.”
