£210k compo over age bias

A MAN fired “over a pint” after 30 years service only to see his job re-advertised was awarded £210,000.

Lawrence Roberts, 56, a designer with Logo Design Group, was fired by boss Nick Burrage in May 2017.

But Mr Roberts, of Plymouth, Devon, claimed he was sacked to make way for a younger worker.

The Plymouth tribunal ruled on Monday the firm should pay £172,000 for age discrimination and £40,000 in lost earnings.

But Mr Roberts fears he’ll get no cash as the company is in liquidation.
