Dying for good deal

-

■ The cost of funerals is outrageous (Mirror, Nov 30). My husband and I have decided on direct cremation at about £1,000 – still a lot, but not compared to a traditional funeral. We have no religious beliefs and see no point in leaving our children in debt.

Everything is done for you – paperwork, medical signatures, choice of coffin, which relieves next of kin of added stress they don’t need.

Our friends had never heard of this option. Now five of them are doing the same.

His memoirs show what life would be like without the NHS and the welfare state, now being dismantled. We need more people like Harry.

The austerity cuts are destroying Britain and harming people who are low paid, disabled and unemployed.

Let’s pay tribute to Harry by fighting the austerity cuts.
