PSG hit by riot fears
PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN have postponed Saturday’s top-of-the-table clash against Montpellier amid fears the French capital could be hit by more riots.
Police asked leaders PSG to call the Ligue 1 game off three days after thousands of people violently protested against tax increases on diesel.
Riot police were overrun last Saturday in the fanciest neighbourhoods of Paris, as dozens of cars were torched, boutiques looted, and luxury private homes and cafes smashed up.
“We accept this postponement,” PSG coach Thomas Tuchel said. “Security is important.”
