vMolineux: 7.45pm MAURIZIO SARRI insists Chelsea are ready to hand Eden Hazard a bumper new deal “immediately” – it is now just up to the superstar to sign it.

The Blues secured the future of another one of their key men yesterday when Cesar Azpilicueta committed his future until 2022 (with Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia, bottom).

Sarri wants “important” duo David Luiz and Cesc Fabregas – both out of contract next summer – to stay too.

But Belgium talisman Hazard will be the big one, if Chelsea can reach an agreement. They are ready to make him their £300,000-per-week top earner and talks are ongoing.

Hazard, 27, has kept his cards close to his chest, admitting longtime admirers Real Madrid are his dream club but, at the same time, saying he could still retire at Stamford Bridge.

Sarri said: “You know very well Eden is very important for us, like every special player. He’s important for this club. It’s up to him, I think.

“The club is available to sign a new contract immediately, but it’s up to him if he wants to renew or not. I don’t know. But it’s up to him, for sure. I want Eden here, of course, but I want him here if he wants to stay. I know very well there are discussions between the club and the manager of Eden every week, so if there is something new, the club will call me immediately.”

Sarri (with Hazard, below) believes experienced Luiz and Fabregas are among Chelsea’s new leaders.

But with the club’s policy of only handing one-year deals to players over

30, he said: “The club wants a short contract, and the players want a long contract. So it’s difficult for this reason.

“But I think, at the end, the club will be able to find the right solution.”

A busy period for Chelsea continues at Wolves tonight. But Sarri is especially relishing the prospect of matches over Christmas having experienced them in Serie B.

He said: “The atmosphere in the stadiums was, I remember, really good. I liked playing in that period.

“Here it’s very difficult because we have to play on the 22nd, 26th, 30th, January 2nd and 5th, so it’s not easy. But I’m looking forward to it.”

And he has found someone to act as dogsitter for his beloved pet Ciro during Chelsea’s hectic run.

He smiled: “Oh, I have a friend here from Florence, so I have no problem with my dog.”
