Lindsay... we Wana move on
Seven years after My Family ended, actor Kris Marshall still calls Robert Lindsay “dad”. But sadly even the close bonds between the stars can’t encourage them to reunite on screen. Robert and telly wife Zoe Wanamaker have turned down numerous approaches to reprise their comedy chemistry. He says: “There have been many attempts. They’d like us to do something on TV again. I think Zoe’s like me, we try to move on.
“We did My Family for probably longer than we should have. It was a very difficult thing to let go of.” Robert is in his first panto this year, as Captain Hook in Richmond Theatre’s Peter Pan, and he reckons the villain role is pretty similar to Ben Harper. He says: “My Family had a panto feel – Ben was a horrible person.”
Peter Pan has had lines cut for being too smutty yet one survived, where Rob invites up audience members to board his Jolly Roger.
What could possibly go wrong?
