Who wants to win, Idris or Clarkson?
The New Year is getting off to a tempestuous start – with Idris Elba and Jeremy Clarkson in a TV head-tohead in the first week.
BBC bosses last night confirmed the much-anticipated fifth series of Luther will run on the year’s first four nights, from 9pm New Year’s Day.
Who Wants to be a Millionaire, again hosted by Clarkson, is already doing the same thing on ITV, for the first 10 nights. In his first outing for three years DCI John Luther will, we are told, “confront the demons of his own past”.
Is one demon Alice – the murderer he befriended in series one? We only ask as the bloodied character, played by Ruth Wilson, appears fleetingly in the trailer. Eek! Well, there’s not much scarier than that. Except maybe Clarkson.
