Ten years ago he claimed he was suffering psychological problems due to threats from anti-racist campaigners. He tried, in vain, to persuade council officials to rehouse him.

He has been seen driving a £22,000 Nissan Qashqai bought new five years ago. He is reportedly now working as a roofer and casual labourer.
