Charles and Harry knife crime fight
PRINCE Charles is joining forces with Prince Harry to tackle Britain’s knife crime epidemic.
The Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex will meet ex-gang members and families devastated by the effects of street crime.
They will join a discussion at Clarence House, in Central London, next Wednesday.
They hope to raise the profile of community leaders’ work and will
call for more to be done to steer young people from gang violence.
Topics covered will include how social media can inspire the young away from crime and the role of positive community role models.
Charles and Harry will also meet Omar Sharif, who rose from gang violence and homelessness to run his own personal fitness business.
Omar turned his life around after the deaths of three friends,
and he is now a motivational speaker in schools and prisons.
Omar, 26, won the Pride of Britain Young Achievers award this year after help from The Prince’s Trust, set up by Charles in 1976.
He said: “I wanted to show these young people there were more positive choices out there.”
Royal insiders say this may be the start of a partnership on social issues between Charles and Harry.
