DNA bid to identify body in search for missing Brit Amy

- BY ALAN SELBY

POLICE probing the disappearance of Amy Louise Gerard on Tenerife say a body found in the sea was so badly damaged they cannot confirm it is her.

DNA tests will now be done to try to identify the body, but police sources believe it is whale trainer Amy, 28, from Cleethorpes, Lincs.

The body was found on Tuesday near the route Amy would have taken home from MISSING Amy Louise Gerard, 28 the pub where she was last seen in the early hours of last Friday.

It was in an area where strong swells frequently crash over the sea wall on to the footpath above, stoking fears she may have been dragged out by a wave. Amy’s boyfriend Dennis Kissling, a colleague at the Loro Parque zoo, reported her missing on Saturday morning.

They had been at the Molly Malone pub in Puerto de la Cruz until 1am on Friday.
